Women in Super Mothers Day Classic The Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic is the largest fun run/walk in Australia held nationally to raise funds for breast cancer research. In 2012 they hosted their highest ever participation numbers, 125,000 at 53 events across Australia. They also made their largest ever single donation to breast cancer research, $4 million. This year’s success brings to $14.8 million the total funds raised by Women is Super for research into breast cancer programs and the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Mother’s Day Classic is the largest charity fundraising event in Australia. Each year participants and volunteers show their commitment and support for the event with many wearing tribute cards dedicating their morning to loved ones who had been lost to or are currently fighting breast cancer. Families, friends, colleagues, schoolmates, and corporate teams get into the spirit of the day with many sporting fancy dress and an abundance of pink. The festival atmosphere is also an opportunity to celebrate the life of survivors and enjoy a fun and healthy morning on Mother’s Day. Each service is a tender reflection of the importance of these women and is a fitting way of honouring these women on an important day of the year. An invitation is extended to the community to attend a special Mother's Day Remembrance Service, and to share a light refreshment following the service. The service will be reflective, but also celebratory. Those who attend will be invited to participate by placing a special Mother's Day message into a beautiful floral arrangement, providing a meaningful way for families to express the feelings they have for their treasured mother. This service will also provide an opportunity for people to share their experiences with others who are also missing a loved mother's familiar presence.
